More details

As a child that was home-schooled by parents who were art majors, I was able to complete my general studies and enjoy an extra focus on art projects. When I was 13 years old I displayed some of my work at our hometown Arts Council, where a piece was sold, sent to Australia, and additional pieces were commissioned to join the first. This began the true drive to transform an interest into a profession, and to become a working artist. I was able to assist on a number of the murals in West Jefferson NC, as well as completing many on my own, and portraiture of people and pets became an additional focus. Soon commissioned art pieces of mine were in private collections all over the States, and internationally.

In December of 2012, I graduated from Western Piedmont Community College, in Morganton, NC, with a double major in the Arts. My time there allowed me to hone existing skills and expand my experience in multiple mediums. After graduating I spent two years as a Production Artist at Somerset Studios Inc., in Morganton, NC, gaining the titles of Art Department Manager, Assistant Art Director and Designer.

One activity I enjoy is sharing the artistic knowledge, and tricks of the trade that I have learned over the years, in various types of art classes for all age groups. I have created single day large group projects to bring to local elementary schools, and a series of classes at the Burke Arts Council for smaller groups of children to seniors, as well as individual lessons in many artistic mediums.

Another artistic medium I work with is henna, as a henna tattoo artist, and I have been providing henna work since 2007 for individuals and groups. For the last few years I have also enjoyed sharing a vending booth with my mother, to offer my handcrafted creations and henna artistry skills at festivals and events in the Carolinas and Tennessee.

I am currently working on a touchable texture series of paintings in my personal studio, while completing commissioned works of art.

I will never put a cap on what I am willing to put my hands to, because there is always something new to learn.
